Tiger kills man in Kishanpur wildlife Sanctuary
Dated 01 August, 2006

In Kheri district, New types of Sarkari Shikari are trying to caging to Tiger for their own interest in hunting in conservation era, Most of Forest Officers and Wildlife conservationists and Tiger Experts want name and fame in tiger hunting with the permission of Chief Wildlife Warden.
A man who was grazing cattle’s in a forest area in the edge of Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary ( –a part of Dudhwa Tiger Reserve) of kheri district of Uttar Pradeh was killed by a Tiger, the forest officials said on Tuesday. The man, a young –aged man of Kanp Village who had gone to the forest along with her cattle on Tuesday morning did not return home till afternoon and a villagers search party found her non-eaten body in the area, they said. This was the fourth case of man-killing (not eating) in this area by Tiger, These 4 cases took place in and around the Kishanpur wildlife Sanctuary in the month of July-August 2006, lying between Bhira reserve forest to the south and Dudhwa National park to the north. Now the Forest Officers are trying to trap this tiger at Kishanpur.
According to the tiger census 2005, Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary has 29 tigers and two leopards. The sanctuary is surrounded by Mailani Jungles where Jim Corbett had played the shikar of tiger along with his friend Ady Novells. Jim quoted these memoirs of mailani in his book entitlrd “Man-Eaters of Kumaon. Once The Jungles of Kheri were very rich in floral an faunal diversity and tigers were roaming in every patch of forests without any conflict with human being but now the population of Big Cats are decreasing due to poaching, habitat loss, hunting of tiger’s prey like samp deer, cheetal, barking deer, hog deer and illegal tree felling in protected areas and reserve forests of kheri. When-ever people do not remember that the forest is the home of tigers, Man-eating by big cats will be continuous.
One biggest problem with the kishanpur sanctuary is Buffer zone. This sanctuary has no Buffer Zone due to encroachments by the Agriculturists, with the implementation of the Buffer Zone and community forest is the new management strategies for wildlife conservation, mainly for tigers. The Buffer Zone and community forests increasingly provided additional tiger habitat. These surrounded forests are provided shelters to the old and transient tigers. Basically Buffer zones are shared by wild animal and human who live the edge of forests, People can enter their cattle in buffer zone for grazing, but kishanpur Sanctuary has no buffer zone, this the main reason of Tiger and Human conflict. Tiger was not eaten a piece of meat of human flesh, this habit of tiger showed that there is no symptoms of man-eaters in kishanpur tiger. According to Dr V P Singh Tiger conservationist of kheri district said that this the peak time of tigers’ mating and tiger does not want any disturbance in his territory but people do not understand this natural behavior of cats, Dr Sing told, the people who lives near sal forests, involve in illegal collection of Dharti ke phool, and other forest products, they entered illegally in protected areas for these purposes and left his lives there.
As a conservationist I would like to say to the forest officials and NGOs for a compaign for awareness programme in forest villages and tell him what is the main cause of man-killing by tigers, If you want save own lives please keep away from tiger territories because jungle is the primary home of tigers.
Actually Nature is not creating man-eaters, we human are creating man-eaters!
